    M12 series features

    The M12 connector is a type of circular electrical connector that is commonly applied

     in industrial automation environments where compact, robust, and reliable power, signal,

    and data connections are needed. M12 connectors are rated for IP67 or even IP69K,

    standardized to IEC-61076-2-101, ranging from 2 to 17 pins with different pin configurations. 

    They handle bandwidth needs up to 10 Gb/s, power to 12A, and may support Profinet, SPE, 

    and fieldbus protocols.

    To prevent incorrect mating situation, M series circular connectors have specific coding options that

     define pinouts and arrangements. M12 connectors are available in various coding options including 

    A (3-17 pins), B (2, 4, or 5 pins for Profibus and Interbus), C (3 to 6 poles), D (4 pins as standard on

     Ethernet, ProfiNet, and EtherCat field devices with CAT5e cables), K (5 pins [4+PE] rated up to

    63V), L (4 or 5 pins [4+PE] with a current rating of up to 12A per pole voltage rating of 63V), S (3-pole

     [2+PE] or 4-pole [3+PE]), T (designed for DC power connections rated up to 63V, 4 poles with each

     pole rated to 12A), X (8 pins, up to 10 Gb/s), and Y (power and data in a single cable; 8 poles split

     into two groups).

    M12 are available in molded type, panel mount and field attachable types/ shell materials including

     plastic, stainless steel, brass copper, and zinc alloys. M12 connectors are designed to provide fast 

    and easy connections like screw locking type, bayonet, and push-pull locking for blind mating. Below
